Mrs. Townsend

I am Coach Townsend, and I am excited to work alongside Coach Jordan to make PE fun for everyone!

This is my first year working as the PE para at Vineland Elementary.  Last year was my first year as a substitute teacher here, and I subbed for multiple grade levels, including PE.  I have also volunteered at Vineland for many years helping with the PTO, Box Tops Coordinator, and helped organize the uniform closet.  In 2017, my husband, Jason and I moved our family down here from Ohio.   I stayed home full-time for 6 years to help raise our two children, Cameron (13) and Kelsey (7).  We also have a goofy, yellow labrador retriever that is a part of our family, named Toby.

I graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training.  I then worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Dayton, working with the women's soccer and softball teams, while getting my Master's Degree in Education and Human Services in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Wright State University.  I worked for 9 years at an orthopedic surgeon's office in their physical therapy department, as well as the doctor's office side as a cast tech, before moving to Florida.

I have been involved with sports all my life.  Growing up, I played soccer for 12 years, basketball for 10 years, volleyball for 2 years, and I also ran track for 6 years.  My son plays competitive soccer, jujitsu, and golf, and my daughter plays, soccer, softball, and basketball.  I am excited to share the love I have for sports with VES students this year, and help them learn to have fun through movement.
