Criminal Justice Operations (High School Only)

  • Provides training as a certified Police Service Aide including an overview of the criminal justice system, criminal law, court systems and trial procedures, the juvenile justice system, the correctional system, patrol procedures, preparing written reports, traffic control, defensive tactics, safety, CPR and first aid, prevention of transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS and bloodborne pathogens. The course will also cover criminal investigation procedures, fingerprinting, forensic photography, crime lab examination, and property control procedures. Discussion will also include services in fire fighting, land, air and water quality, public safety and social services. Students earn Emergency Responder Certification as well as earning Honors Academic credit in this program.

    High school student admittance is based on current academic course history,
    grade point average, FSA scores, attendance record and faculty recommendation.
